DIY Teething Rusks

(Banana & Coconut Flavour)

This is a simple and easy recipe!

Can make up to 20 rusks, depending on your chosen cookie cutter in about 30 minutes!

Ingredients:

1 cup of baby rice cereal

1 cup plain flour

1 mashed banana (you could use pureed apple, pear, carrot, sweet potato, etc.)

4 tablespoons of water

2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil (again, you could probably use your preferred oil)

2 teaspoons of cinnamon (optional)

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees.

2. combine all dry ingredients.

3. Add the wet ingredients.

4. Mix until ingredients forms a dough (the dough should not be sticky). If needed, you can add more flour or water until you get the right consistency.

5. Roll dough on a lightly floured bench, cut into preferred shape.

6. Place on prepared tray (using baking paper)

7. place in oven for 10 minutes, or until golden.

8. Allow to cool. Store in an air tight container.

Note: these rusks should not crumble. If your dough is not rolled until a smooth texture (as some of mine pictured were not), these should not be given to your baby as they can break off easily and cause a choking hazard.

Always consult with Paediatrician before giving a child a rusk stick, especially one you've made from home.

Always supervise your child when eating.
