Trying to live a Healthy Lifestyle?

If you follow these easy steps, you’ll easily get to your goal weight, as long as you put 100% dedication into it and believe that you can do it.  Dieting doesn’t have to be bland and boring, it can be healthy and fun, you just have to get your mind in the right mind space.

Many people suggest that you need to cut out certain nutrients completely out of the diet in order to become healthy or lose weight. However this is never the case, ultimately eating healthy is dependent on your own body and what works for you. Most people wanted to lose lots of weight generally do something crazy like fad diets or skipping meals, but an individual should never be doing that. All you have to do is eat cleanly, in the correct portion sizes and at the right times. Also exercise is another helpful factor when trying to lose weight. I like to think of it as your diet should be 80% about healthy eating and 20% exercise.

There are three words that you need to remember, DEDICATION, WILLPOWER and MODERATION. Dedication is for when you want motivation to continue your diet or healthy lifestyle change, just remember what you use to look like when you started, and what you want to look like at the end. Willpower is for the days that you crave the unhealthy food that you use to eat. If you don’t think you need it, then don’t eat it. But if you do decide to eat it, rely on your exercise to try and burn it off. Moderation is for the unhealthy outings or times that you can’t eat anything healthy. Think of it like this, if you want a cookie that you can get anywhere, from any shop at any time, do you really need it? I don’t think so. But, if the food is a special dessert that is only at your friends dinner parties once every year, should you eat it then? Well in this case I think that a little reward wouldn’t hurt, as long as it is the right portion and still only happens in moderation. Hydration is also something that every person must do. Every person should aim to drink at least 1 litre of water a day, which will prevent headaches, fatigue and  will also keep you fuller for longer.

Generally, a person only needs to exercise 30 minutes a day, 3-4 times a week (if you like you can do more.) The exercise being done should be cardio based, for example: the treadmill, walking, swimming etc. with a little bit of weight training eg. Use of dumbbells or weight machines etc. in order to become strong. Doing exercise will make you fitter, toner, stronger and more healthy. Exercise also helps to undo any bad food that you may have eaten that day or help you with stress. Fitting exercise into your weekly routine may be hard, but even doing a smaller amount of exercise each day will still work as you are still burning off food that you have eaten.

The main thing to remember is that you need to do what works for you, do whatever makes you feel good. Make sure it fits into your schedule and that you are happy with it, this way you will be more likely to stay determined and continue on your weight loss journey.
